tl;dr
Success isn't a lottery ticket that you win instantly.
It's like compound interest from a savings account that gradually accumulates with consistent effort.
So, let's keep going consistently without overexerting ourselves.
Three-Day Enthusiasm
I started writing blog posts in July.
Organizing my thoughts, which had only existed in my head, into written form and sharing them with others
was a bit embarrassing but also quite enjoyable.
Initially, I wrote with great enthusiasm.
I wrote one post a day, sometimes even two, and posted them on my blog.
Back then, I was brimming with ideas and passion for writing.
I also invested a lot of time and effort in writing.
Despite my lacking writing skills, I focused intently with the mindset of a professional writer.
I went through the stages of drafting, receiving feedback, and revising,
constantly asking myself questions like, "Does this sentence fit the context?", and "Should I omit this content?".
So, what was the response to these meticulously crafted posts?
People didn't read my posts, nor did they show any interest.
My enthusiasm and interest waned as people didn't pay attention to my writing.
Over time, writing became less enjoyable, and I found it difficult to find my writing groove.
While I used to write 1-2 posts a day, now it's challenging to even write one post a week.
A YouTuber Who Perseveres
Then, I came across a video on YouTube.
And it prompted me to reflect deeply.
If you've stopped trying to run a developer blog, please watch this video - YouTube
Actually, it wasn't the video's content that moved me, but rather the YouTuber's perseverance and the number of subscribers they had.
When I first discovered this YouTuber, they had a small number of subscribers and viewers.
Just like me.
But this YouTuber was different from me.
While I lost my passion and interest amidst the indifference of others,
this YouTuber consistently uploaded videos regardless of the results.
Perhaps due to their persistent uploads?
The YouTuber now has 36 videos and about 1,700 subscribers.
Through this experience, I realized that success doesn't come instantly.
Success That Gradually Accumulates Through Consistent Effort
Success isn't a lottery ticket that you win instantly.
It's like compound interest from a savings account that gradually accumulates with consistent effort.
So, I'm going to start writing consistently again.
Unlike before, I'll write consistently without overexerting myself.
With consistent writing, my writing skills will improve,
and eventually, I'll be able to write posts that capture people's attention.
Until then, I'll keep writing diligently, like accumulating compound interest.
